National Night Out

National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event that is held in communities across the country. The purpose of the night is to lock your doors, visit with neighbors and have a cookout or block party. This also gives the police, fire, and other community leaders a chance to get out and meet the people they serve.

National Night Out is held on the first Tuesday in August. To find out if your city is participating in NNO, contact your local police department.

Some cities celebrate Night to Unite (NTU) which is a similar concept.
